A Focused, Personal Approach
To provide the highest level of hands-on service, our program has two key focuses:
- Location: Florianópolis Only Our team is based in the beautiful island city of Florianópolis, and our services are exclusively for families choosing to give birth here. We personally believe it’s the best city in Brazil for this journey—it’s one of the safest, boasts excellent infrastructure, and has world-class private hospital facilities surrounded by forests and beaches.
- Private Healthcare Focus We only work with families who intend to give birth in a private hospital or via a planned home birth with our registered midwife team. Our service is designed to navigate the private system, which includes English-speaking staff and the highest standards of care.
Your Journey, Step by Step

Before You Arrive
- Document Preparation: We will advise you on all the critical documents you must bring from your home country. This includes an apostilled criminal record check. (Full disclosure of any past criminal record is mandatory for us to advise you correctly and maintain our trusted relationships in Brazil.)
- Accommodation: We will assist you with booking suitable accommodation, keeping in mind Florianópolis’s high season (November to February).
- Travel Planning: We will advise you on checking airline rules for flying while pregnant.
Once You Land in Florianópolis
- Initial Documents: In your first few days, we will personally accompany you to obtain the initial Brazilian documents (like a CPF) needed to begin the process.
- Medical Introductions: We will introduce you to the English-speaking staff at our partner private hospitals or connect you with our experienced home birth midwifery team, based on your preference.
After Your Baby Arrives
- Handling the Paperwork: Following the typical 2-night hospital stay, our team takes over. We handle the official birth certificate registration and gather all necessary documents for your baby’s passport and your family’s permanent residency applications.
- Guided Appointments: We will accompany you to all your appointments, including at the Federal Police (Polícia Federal), acting as your translator and advocate to ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Timelines:
- Baby’s Passport: You cannot travel internationally with your new baby until their passport has been created. We recommend allowing at least 5 weeks after the baby’s birth for this document.
- Residency Cards: The permanent residency cards (CRNM) take approximately three months to be issued. If you cannot stay in Florianópolis, we can securely collect and forward these vital documents to you.
